Vicar Christian Einertson is a native of Marietta, Georgia, who is studying toward ordination in the Lutheran Church at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. Before coming to the seminary, he earned his Bachelor of Arts from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, with majors in Modern Foreign Languages and Music-Voice with a Sacred Music Emphasis.
As a musician, Vicar Einertson has performed as a vocal soloist with orchestras and choirs and has recently enjoyed singing in Laudamus, the touring choir at Concordia Seminary. He formerly served as organist at Christ Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls and has enjoyed playing organ at the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus and in many congregations in the St. Louis area during his studies at the seminary. During his free time, he can often be found listening to music, practicing new music, and learning and translating hymns.
An avid traveler and student of languages and cultures, he has been blessed to study in Germany, Norway, the United Kingdom, Israel, Poland, and the Russian Federation. As a result of his travels, he has enjoyed getting to know some of the churches in fellowship with the Missouri Synod in other countries, and he is passionate about the spread of the gospel and the promotion of sound Lutheran doctrine throughout the world. He served a summer vicarage with Philadelphia Lutheran Ministries in the summer of 2017 and is excited to be back in Philadelphia serving a yearlong vicarage beginning in July 2018.
Vicar will serve in a number of capacities through PLM, including work at λόγος Lutheran and outreach on the campuses of Temple University and the University of Pennsylvania. He is excited to see how serving PLM will form him as he prepares for the Office of Holy Ministry, and is always willing to sit down and talk. He can be contacted here.
